High fives for Five Guys Mililani

It’s been a month since mainland fast-food chain Five Guys Burgers and Fries arrived on island. During the first few weeks, long lines circled its Hawaii flagship establishment in the Mililani Town Center, but it seems that the hype has gradually dwindled. Here’s a brief first-hand experience from our Flow photographer, Sydney Ro.

“It’s a small detail, but the drink dispenser is also a cool side feature [not shown in photo]. It’s not like some regular fountain drink dispenser. The one at Five Guys is electronic, and you get to pick the drink you want on the screen. Then it comes out of one convenient dispenser.”

“There are free peanuts that you can just take while you’re waiting in line. I think that’s a smart idea to hold you over while waiting, especially if you try to go during rush hour.”

“I got a small burger, but even for a small, there was a lot of substance and weight for it. So you’re DEFINITELY getting your money’s worth here. I got full just eating the small, so I can’t even imagine what eating a regular size burger would be like.”

A quick note that she mentions (and that all Five Guys visitors can agree on):

“The fries have a very unique taste to them.  Not like just some fries you can get from a fast food place, and they all taste the same. It has the special kind of taste to it that if I’m in a mood where I’m craving specific foods, the five guys fries would be one of them. There aren’t really words to describe, it’s something you have to taste for yourself and see.”

Visit Five Guys in the Mililani Town Center (95-1249 Meheula Pkwy, Mililani, HI 96789), open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
