The eponymous homecoming season has dawned upon us! For the past few weeks, you’ve seen public and private school students showcase “school spirit, personal pride” for their respective alma maters. From endless pep rallies and activities, contests that posed the “Who’s the better class?” question, Friday night football games and face paint that reflected school colors, homecoming was a significant part of the high school experience.
But Honolulu Night Market connected that specific experience to the theme of their September 2015 event, “Homecoming.”
Aside from the usual food and retail vendors, live entertainment and fashion show, the Hawaii Pacific University cheer squad performed with a 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. show at the main Night Market stage that lined up along Cooke Street.
The fashion show was sponsored by local designers of the fashion incubator Cut Collective, which included stylish pieces from Rumi Murakami, Ten Tomorrow and Allison Izu. The models strutted down the runway in neutral colors that created possibilities for the perfect school day outfit.
Honolulu Night Market’s next event is Saturday, October 17, with a fall-esque theme: “Fall Feast.”
